Shop owners are celebrating a second Christmas after opening for the holiday season with new stock of nail art.
The first two weeks of Christmas are a busy time for nail shops, with a range of art supplies on sale and holiday decorations on display.
There are more than 300 nail shops in the country, and they are still open to the public, as well as some nail artists.
“Christmas is usually a bit more of a holiday, but this time of year is a great time to open up,” the head of shop at Sydney’s Kmart said.
“We’ve had a couple of great sales in the last couple of days, so hopefully we’re making more in the future.”
While many nail shops will remain closed on the first two days of Christmas, they are open on the following days and are now stocking nail art supplies.
“It’s just like Christmas, you can buy everything you want and get it when you want it,” Kmart owner Julie Smith said.
Ms Smith said she had found the gift giving process to be more stressful this year, but was also relieved to have more free time.
“There are so many other things to do on the weekend, so I think it’s nice to get out and do it,” she said.
New arrivals at KmartShop owners are also celebrating the opening of their second nail shop in Australia, which is currently open to all nail artists on opening day.
The Kmart store opened at 11am on Monday and will be open until the middle of December.
“This is a new concept and we are really happy to open it up to the community,” owner Julie Wood said.”[We have] some really good local artists here so we are trying to cater for that,” she added.
